Calls have been made for internet law to be clarified after the names of footballers rumoured to be involved in the alleged rape of a 17-year-old were circulated on websites.
The teenager made the complaint at a central London police station on Saturday.
The alleged incident happened over the weekend at London's Grosvenor House hotel in Park Lane.
The media has also been urged by Attorney General Lord Goldsmith to show restraint in reporting the allegations by a teenager.
He warned the media frenzy could prejudice any future trial.

He continued: "This has really serious implications for impacting adversely on the jury pool and that's the challenge for the 21st century legal system."
